Brooke’s Fitness Board – May 7th, 2019

 

Hi everyone!

Today I’m going to talk about how to create, and keep a new healthy habit. Everyone knows a healthy choices make us not only live longer but make us feel so much better day to day. Little habits like exercising more or sleeping more will have a big impact on your daily life. Everyone already has a ton of habits that they do, usually they just become routine and you don’t even realize you are doing them. Sometimes they become bad habits and they are hard to change, for example coming home and going straight to you couch. Why not come home and head straight for a walk to get your mail? Then sit down on the couch!

The first step to creating a new healthy habit is to make a plan, and for example we will use going for a walk to check the mail before sitting down on the couch. Our plan will be that instead of driving up to the mail box on our way home we will park the car and walk over to it instead. Next is to stay on track, this one you could do even one weekends when mail isn’t delivered, just go for a quick walk before you let yourself sit on the couch. Even though this is such a small action think about the future effect it could have on you. Maybe instead of watching TV at all you will just go for an extra long walk and enjoy the outdoors! The thing about creating a new habit is that they do take time, be patient when creating a new habit!
